Organizations related to religious bodies and organizations that are secular, both aimed at meeting human needs, have become distinguished from one another in this century. Cutting across these two types of organizations is the service delivery/social change distinction. Insights from organizational theory are used to explore reasons for the persistence of these distinctions.
