Aspergillus is very widely distributed in nature. The contamination of food and feed stuff by aflatoxigenic strains of Aspergillus flavus is a problem that has to be considered seriously due to its toxigenic, carcinogenic, mutagenic nature and immunosuppresive effect. Hence a study is made to find out the occurence of aflatoxin and its toxic effects on feed ingredients, livestock and poultry.
