[Yield and quality of forage barley grain]

As new and more productive cereal crops are introduced, new effective fertilizers and means of plant protection are used, it is necessary to study the related agrotechnical problems in order to obtain the desired yields of high-quality grain. In the given paper the results of the investigations carried out with several barley varieties in 1996, 1997 are analysed. The main task of the investigations was to determine the influence of nitrogen on the spring barley yield and grain quality. In both years the previous crop in the rotation was sugarbeet. The 1996 and 1997 yield data of several barley varieties as well as the protein content in grain are presented in tables.
