The effect of the month of lambing of ewes on their milk output, composition and characteristics of milk

The aim of the study was to determine the milk yield and chemical composition of milk depending on the month of lambing. The ewes lambing in March (group 2) produced greater milk yield, 9.54 during a shorter lactation period than those lambing in February (group 1). The milk of group 1 ewes contained higher percentage of dry matter, milk fat, dry fatless residue and protein.
