In the purpose of preventing bovine respiratory diseases, an experimental combined vaccine containing inactivated bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus and parainfluenza-3 (PI3) virus was prepared, and tested for its safety and immunogenicity in guinea pigs and calves. Immune responses of the vaccinated animals indicated that serum neutralizing antibody was detected from 2 weeks after inoculation, and then was increased significantly followed by booster vaccination at 4 weeks or by challenge at 6 weeks
