At the age of 3-5 days, 6-12 days and 13-24 days carp larvae were transferred from natural food and were fed on 26 degrees C starters containing fish meal or yeasts as the main component. In each series four starters were tested parallelly; larvae, fed on zooplankton monocultures, and starved larvae served as controls. The effects of feeding were inferior in starters-fed larvae, as compared with those fed on zooplankton. The present results have confirmed the superiority - as food for carp larvae - of starters containing yeast as the main component over those based on fish meal
