Meadow sward from consecutive cutting was ensiled. An increase of the lactic acid level as well as decrease of acetic and butyric acid in silages with higher dry matter content was stated. The ensiling of wilted green forage resulted in increase concentration of nutrients, especially of crude protein in silage
