An experiment on 24 lactating cows fed diet containing a lucerne meal (C), sodium formate preserved lucerne silage (SF-LS) or Ensimax preserved lucerne (E-LS) was carried out. Higher dry matter, protein and fibre digestibility coefficients in cows given E-LS than in those given SF-LS were estimated. The higher milk yield and milk fat but not protein content in cows fed the E-LS diet than in those fed the SF-LS and C diet was stated
