First some general information about the location, climate, soils and population of Suriname is given. Furthermore information is also given about various vegetable and root crops and the history, pre-cultivation, planting material, cultivation, post-cultivation, handling and socioeconomy of tomato, white cabbage, chinese cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, onion and some food legumes from the vegetable crops.
