In this paper are the results of two-year research presented (1996-97). The results estimate table potato quality in retail trade in Warsow. According to the findings the quality of the potatoes does not meet requirements for the table potatoes formulated in Polish standards. This concerns both external and internal defects. Only nitrates, glicoalcaloids content and after cooking darkening are adequate
