The effect of acid refinement on characteristic numbers of technical fats

The study dealt with the tests of the effect of sulphuric acid on the physical-chemical characteristics of technical fats in the acid refinement process. Refinement has been effected in both laboratory and production plant condition. It has been found out that acid refinement removes the part of admixtures from technical fats, increases titer, total fats content and mineral acidity, and changes the characteristic numbers: saponification, acid, ester, iodine and peroxide number.
