The objective of this study was to assess the biologiocal and production characteristics of new pea varieties in order to examine a possibility of combined growing of varieties from different maturity groups for a prolonged processing campaign. The study was indicative of the importance of both ecological factors and crop biology. Of the nine pea varieties studied, two were medium early (Masterfon and Karina), four were medium late (Skinado, Barli, Frila and Orkado) and three were late (Skaut, Kuadi and Dzof).
