Defined barley varieties, four spring and six winter, were analyzed. The content of crude protein, ether extract, crude fibre, nitrogen-free extract, crude ash, starch and mineral matter (P, Ca, Mg, K, Na, Zu, Mn), was established. What was also established was the significancy of the differences in the contents of the studied matter between certain winter and spring varieties, and also between winter varieties on one hand and spring varieties on the other.
