English. The aim of the present study was to determine wastewater sewage effects on water quality at the coastal zone of Sinop Peninsula. The water samples were taken at sea from 8 stations between July 2006 and June 2007. Water quality parameters (salinity and conductivity, pH, temperature, soluable oxygen (mg/l), BOD (mg/l), organic matter test (mg/l), total alkalinity (mg CaCO3/l), total suspended solid (mg/l), nitrite test (mg/l NO2 - -N), nitrate test (mg/l NO3 - -N), and free carbondioxide (mg/l)) were determined from each station.
