Impact of Irrigation Interval and Different Nitrogen Levels on characteristics of quality and quantity potato in subsurface drip irrigation method

This study was conducted to determine the impacts of Irrigation Interval and Nitrogen levels and their interactions on yield, water use efficiency and quality characteristics of potato in Jolge Rokh- Agricultural Research Station in Razavi Khorasan, using subsurface drip irrigation method. The study was done during 2012-2014 Seasons. Experimental design was two factor completely randomized design with three replications. Design treatments were including Irrigation Interval (2 & 4 day) and Different Amount of Nitrogen Fertilizer (100%, 75% and 50% of fertilizer recommendation). The combined analyze showed that irrigation interval had no significant effect on yield and water use efficiency (WUE). The effect Amount of Nitrogen (P΅ά 0.05) and reciprocal effects of irrigation interval and nitrogen amount (P΅ά 0.01) on yield and WUE was significant. Yield and WUE of potato in irrigation intervals 2 and 4 days were 29.789, 27.765 ton/ha and 4.006 and 3.728 kg/m3, respectively with no significance difference. Yield in 100, 75 and 50 % of Nitrogen amounts was 31.167, 29.275 and 25.875 ton/ha, respectively that had significant difference. The highest record 100% found by WUE with 4.183 kg/1m3 followed by 75 and 50 percent with 3.933 and 3.483 kg/m3 respectively.Totally it was concluded that vegardiny the compley effects of treatment on yield and water use efficiency, the most and the least yield and WUE were treatment 4 day irrigation interval ¨C with 100% nitrogen amount and treatment 4 day irrigation interval - with 50% nitrogen amount.
