An experiment comprising three initial soil moisture levels, two irrigation levels and four levels of fertilizers in Barley, chickpea, Taramira and mustard conducted. Consumptive use of water at different stages of growth and total consumptive use increased with the increase in initial soil moisture level or with application of additional irrigation in all the crops. The water use efficiency reduced with increase in soil moisture level or with additional irrigation except in case of chickpea
