The Enigma of copper sulfate in animal nutrition
1984
Recent evidence indicates that feed additive levels of Cu and antibiotics produce additive responses in the rate and efficiency of weight gain in young pigs with no antagonistic effects. The role of Cu in the nutrition of swine and poultry, however, is less clear. Various aspects of Cu metabolism (e.g.: binding to thioamino acids; Cu chelation) also are discussed. (wz)
