Cytotoxic flavonoids from the roots of Bougainvillea spectabilis
2021
Tran, Y B.N. | Nguyễn, Văn Kiêu | Nguyen, Phuong T.K.
Two new flavonoids, named bougainvinones N–O (1–2), together with the five known compounds (3–7), were isolated from the roots of Bougainvillea spectabilis. The chemical structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses, including 1D and 2D NMR and HR-ESI-MS. All compounds were evaluated for cytotoxic effects against four cancer cell lines, including HeLa, NCI-H460, MCF-7 and HepG2. Among them, bougainvinone O (2) showed moderate activity against the MCF-7 cell line, with an IC₅₀ value of 43.64 μM.
