This dissertation presents a review of current attitudes towards recreational games for children with intellectual handicaps. A model for game integration into community settings is outlined in three connected components. The guidelines for planning, teaching and adapting these games are noted in step by step form as trialled in selected special schools. Games may vary in content , however format is structured to six basic segments. This work concludes with a set of over fifty games demonstrated as being suitable for intellectually handicapped people .
