Die einzelnen Verfahren, wie Diagnose anhand von Schadsymptomen, direktes Isolieren, Ködertest und molekularbiologischer Nachweis (PCR) werden ausführlich beschrieben und für das jeweilige Untersuchungsmaterial (Pflanze, Boden, Wasser) modifiziert. Vor- und Nachteile sowie Besonderheiten der Nachweisverfahren werden diskutiert.
