Antioxidative Activity and Lipophilicity Determination of Steroidal Semi- and Thiosemicarbazones

Anti-DPPH activity and in silico lipophilicity of six steroidal semi- and thiosemicarbazones were determined. As expected, sulfur derivatives exhibited higher activity than oxygen analogues. Lipophilicity determined by the shake flask method (logP=4.5±0.2) for androstane thiosemicarbazone with the best antioxidative activity of 0.298 mM was in good agreement with the value obtained by calculation using the Chemaxon calculator (logP=4.62).
