The features of growing of pumpkin and squash for seed production in the conditions of the Moscow region are shown. The size-weight characteristics of grown fruits and seeds of pumpkin crops in order to use these indicators in machine seeds selection are shown.

After many years of breeding work in the laboratory of plant breeding and seed production of floral crops of VNIISSOK five varieties of bearded iris (Hybrid) have been developed: St. George, Breeze, Zhirafik, Maestro, Elegy, with the original color of flowers that are resistant to adverse weather conditions (rain, hail, etc. etc.), as well as to diseases and pests, heat and winter resistance.

At All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production the new varieties of bean, Mariinka and Antoshka were selected. The morphological and biological descriptions of these varieties were given in the article.

The importance of production of fresh peas and methods of processing, technology for preparation of dried peas is highlighted in this article.

Представлены особенности выращивания петрушки на зелень и дана характеристика новых сортов селекции ВНИИССОК

Показано, что гибриды первого поколения многих сельскохозяйственных культур, в частности семейств Solanaceae и Cucurbitaceae, не имеют каких-либо фактических или потенциальных биологических преимуществ над линейными сортами по урожайности и комплексу других хозяйственно ценных признаков. Рассмотрены также потенциальные возможности урожайности трансгенных сортов и гибридов, а также гибридов и сортов типа «терминатор».

Приведены результаты работы по выделению исходного материала и информативных фонов для отбора генотипов различных овощных культур, способных формировать продукцию с минимальным накоплением радионуклидов 137Cs и 90Sr. Эти результаты являются частью разработки методов экологической селекции по данному признаку.

На протяжении двух лет при трех сроках посева изучали 12 районированных сортов фасоли овощной селекции ВНИИССОК на пригодность к механизированной уборке. Установлено, что наиболее пригодными к уборке в технической спелости бобов путем счесывания бобов оказались сорта Пагода, Золушка, Креолка, Лика, Рашель, Сакфит.

The last 10 years achievements of breeding program for spicy, flavouring and aromatic plant crops at All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK) are shown. The concise descriptions of some horticulturally valuable traits among new developed varieties selected at VNIISSOK were given.

There was a scientific practical conference with scientific methodological commission in breeding and seed production of onion crops «Current trends in vegetable breeding and seed production. Traditions and perspectives» took place in August, 9 2012 according to III-d International Scientific Research Conference (August 08 - 09th 2012).
