Growing test results of Russian tomato cultivars originated at All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production in Bulgaria
2009
I.U. Kondratieva | O. Georgieva | D. Ganeva
The tested tomato cultivars had been bred and adapted to environmental factors with regard to open field cultivation in Nonchernozem zone of Russia. Agriculturally valuable traits were studied in many regions: Astrakhan, Volgograd, Belgorod, Primorie krai, and also in Uzbekistan, Moldavia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Ukraine, and Byelorussia. Results that had been analyzed provided information concerning the ecological cultivar sustainable adaptation and required biodiversity. Russian tomato cultivars that possessed high adaptation characteristics were tested for 2 years in open field conditions of Bulgaria and Russia.

Mutually beneficial collaboration work can be only realized by joining efforts of worldwide communication in all industrial sectors. The plant breeding technologies are deeply merged into global economic program and also cover the vegetable plant production. Now Italy is indicated as a centre of cabbage seed growing. For different climatic condition it is very important to analyze the realization of seed production technology in regard to the cultivar characteristics, growing parameters as corresponded with current agricultural system in foreign countries.

2009
A.N. Ignatov | V.F. Pivovarov | M.M. Tareeva | V.U. Mukhortov
Plant cultivation that should be characterized by proper yield abilities is often limited in different arable lands for the reason of abiotic and biotic stress factors. Drought stress in plants causes the high content of soluble substances that have a high osmotic potential. The plant adaptation to the high osmotic pressure in drought condition may occur either by natural adaptation to changed environment or genotype population ability under selective breeding. To implement a quick test on drought tolerance, the influence of high osmotic pressure caused by the polyethilengly-col (P.E.G.) solution of different concentrations with molecular weight 8000Da on germinating seeds of Brassica rapa L. was studied.

2009
M. S. Gins | N. G. Gambarova
It was shown that short-term exposure of red colored plants in ultra -violet rays provoked the increase of activity of superoxide dismutase and contents of low molecu-lar-weight antioxidants. The compensatory dependence between a content of amaranthine and activity of betalain oxidase was discovered. It has been proven that resistance of Amaranth to ultra -violet rays can be used as a factor of selection to be chosen for breeding the initial Amaranth accessions with high antioxidant properties.
