New donors of short-stem dominant characteristic Gnom 1 (G1), Gnom 2 (G2), Gnom 3 (G3) have been created to the purpose of further increasing the yield of Winter Rye and effective redistribution of assimilation products to the benefits of the grain. Genetic and Statistical analysis of 10 selective characteristics of these donors has been conducted and options to improve them were determined. Application of G1 in the prospective breeding programs G1 on 10 characteristics would not create considerable difficulties. Engagement in the crossing of G2 and G3 donors may create complications in the expression of- productivity characteristics of the ear and plants in the progenies. Crossing used in transgress and combinative breeding is preferable for applying. Application of G3 may be accompanied with technical inconvenience in perfor-ming directed crossing. Application of G3 attracts by the creating conditions for uniting desirable height of plant with the constitutionnal components of Winter Rye productivity. | Созданы новые доноры доминантной короткостебельности Гном 1 (Г 1), Гном 2 (Г2), Гном 3 (ГЗ) с целью дальнейшего увеличения урожайности ржи озимой и эффективного перераспределения продукции ассимиляции в пользу зерна. Проведен генетически-статистический анализ параметров десяти селекционных признаков этих доноров, определены возможные способы их улучшения. Использование в селекционных программах Г1 по десяти признакам существенных осложнений не ожидается. Вовлечение в скрещивания доноров Г2 иГЗ могут вызы-вать усложнения по признакам проявления продуктивности колоса и растений в потомстве. Желательно проводить скрещивания, которые используются в трансгрессивной и комбинационной селекциях.  Использование ГЗ привлекательно созданием возможностей обьединения желательной высоты растения со слагаемыми элементами продуктивности ржи озимой. | Створені нові донори домінантної короткостеблості Гном 1 (Г1), Гном 2 (Г2), Гном З (ГЗ) з метою подальшого збільшення врожайності жита озимого і ефективного перерозподілу продуктів асиміляції на користь зерна. Проведено генетично-статистичний аналіз параметрів десяти селекційних ознак цих донорів. Визначені можливі способи їх покращення. Використання у перспективних селекційних програмах Г1 по десяти ознаках значних труднощів не передбачає. Залучення в схрещування донорів Г2 і ГЗ можуть викликати ускладнення за ознаками прояву продуктивності колоса у рослин нащадків. Бажано застосувати схрещування, які використовуються в трансгресивній і комбінаційній селекціях. Використання ГЗ передбачає технічні незручності проведення спрямованих схрещувань. Привабливість використання ГЗ полягає в створенні можливостей сполучення бажаної висоти рослинзі складовими елементами продуктивності жита озимого.

Considerable yield decrease of winter rye grain took place in later generations. Concept of synthetic varieties of winter wheat creation in Ukraine is prospective, though it requires scientific, economical and legal improvement. | Обсуждены перспективы осваивания эффекта гетерозиса использованием синтетических сортов ржи озимой. Уровень гетерозиса у первых пяти поколениях синтетиков ржи не снижался. Достоверное снижение урожайности зерна синтетиков ржи установлено в более поздних поколениях. Концепция создания сортов-синтетиков ржи озимой в Украине перспективная, но требует наручного, экономического и правового усовершенствования. | Обговорена перспектива освоєння ефекту гетерозису шляхом використання синтетичних сортів озимого жита. Рівень гетерозису у перших п’яти поколіннях синтетиків жита не знижувався. Істотне зниження врожайності зерна синтетиків жита відбулося у віддаленіших поколіннях. Концепція створення сортів-син- тетиків жита озимого в Україні перспективна, але потребує наукового, економічного і законодавчого вдосконалення.

The study of impact of complex application of biological compositions based on fixing nitrogen by microorganisms and plant lectin and nitric fertilizers on productivity and quality of grain of winter wheat on the dark-grey soil in the field terms was conducted. It is shown, that presowing treatment of seed by biological compositions stimulated forming of greater productivity with the best quality. | На дерново-подзолистых почвах в полевых условиях проводились опыты по изучению влияния комплексного использования биологических композиций на основе азотофиксирующих микроорганизмов и растительного лектина, а также азотных удобрений на урожайность и качество зерна пшеницы мягкой озимой. Показано, что предпосевная обработка семян биологическими композициями бактериальной (П2) и лектин-бактериальной (ГЬ) природы (как самостоятельного технологического приема и при совместном использовании с минеральными удобрениями) приводит к повышению урожайности пшеницы с лучшим качеством зерна. Таким образом, введение в технологию выращивания данной культуры способа предпосевной обработки семян биологическими композициями обеспечивает повышение урожайности зерна на 20% и содержание в нем белка - на 0,5%. | На дерново-підзолистих ґрунтах у польових умовах проводились дослідження з вивчення впливу комплексного застосування біологічних композицій, на основі азотофіксуючих мікроорганізмів та рослинного лектину, а також - азотних добрив на урожайність і якість зерна пшениці озимої. Показано, що передпосівна обробка насіння біологічними композиціями бактеріальної (П2) та лектинбактеріальної (П^ природи (як самостійний технологічний прийом і у сумісному застосуванні з мінеральними добривами) сприяє підвищенню врожайності пшениці та якості її зерна.

The peculiarities of callus formation using picloram are shown. | Изложены результаты культивирования изолированных пыльников им мунных к парше сортов яблони орловской селекции. Показано, что развитие пыльников исследуемых сортов яблони проходит по пути косвенного андрогенеза. Интенсивность каллусогенеза определяется генотипом сорта, видом питательной среды и экзогенных стимуляторов роста. В каллусных тканях сортов Свежесть и Афродита индуцированы корни. Препарат пиклорам проявляет значительную ауксиновую активность в процессе каллусообразования из пыльников яблони как на свету, так и в темноте. | Надано результати культивування ізольованих пиляків яблуні імунних до парші сортів. Наведено особливості формування калуса з використанням пікло- раму і можливості морфогенеза.

In the Mironivka Institute for wheat named by V.M. Remeslo UAAN new winter-hardy winter wheat variety material was obtained. The annual breeding was used for the selection df winter wheat forms from spring wheat varieties by the prevernalization, spring sowing and M2 at the beginning of optimal terms in autumn (the influence of low temperature on spring wheat seeds). On the basis of such material, winter-hardy wheat varieties were created, such as Myronivs’ka rannyostygla, Remeslivna, Vo- loshkova and such varieties as Bagira, Vdyachna and Svyankova were submitted to the State Service for Plant Variety Protection. | С использованием в селекции каждый год отборов озимых форм пшеницы с яровых сортов с предварительной яровизацией, высевом семян Мі весною и посевом М2 осенью в начале оптимальних строков посева (действие низких температур на семена яровой пшеницы) в Мироновском институте пшеницы имени В. Н. Ремесло УААН получено новый зимостойкий исходный материал пшеницы озимой. Odessa Research Field was established in 1894 to study the agrotechnics of agricultural crops, in particular, Winter Wheat. The Breeding department at Odessa Research Field was established in 8th of March, 1912, and headed by Private- Docent of Novorossiysk University, A.O. Sapegin. The main procedure applied in breeding was individual multifold selection of elite ears from the existing local blends and artificial crossing of lines selected to the purpose of improving economically valuable  characteristics and identifying the inheritance. Five years of breeding (1912-1917 pp.) resulted in creation of three Winter Wheat varieties: Kooperatorka (0194), Zemka (0158) and Stepniachka(0119). In 1918, the Council of People’s Commissars of USSR has parted the Breeding department of Odessa Research Field to independent Odessa agricultural breeding station recognizing development of plant varieties by the Department. | Описывается история зарождения селекции пшеницы озимой на Юге Украины с конца XIX ст. до начала Октябрьской революции на примере Отдела селекции Одесского опытного поля. Purpose. To analyze the divergence of early maturing source material of corn Zea mays L. in heterosis breeding for the genetic base formation at the State Institution the Institute of Grain Crops of the NAAS of Ukraine.Methods. Field (comprehensive assessment of morphobiological and economically valuable characteristics of the source material and maize hybrids) individual selection, cumulative and recurrent selection, backross and testcrosses bree­ding methods; laboratory; analysis and synthesis; statistical.Results. The results of research on the analysis of the divergence of early maturing corn source material in the conditions of the Steppe of Ukraine has become a developed harmonized working collection of corn breeding samples adapted to the stressful conditions of this region. The gradual cyclical improvement of the lines made it possible to form the core of the genetic diversity of FAO 150–290 early maturing specimens of the southern ecotype, which are competitive in heterosis breeding. The complexity of breeding for early maturity in the steppe conditions is due to the lack of material adapted to the stress factors of the South of Ukraine. The available early maturing lines of the world collection F2, F7, Ер1, Ма21, Ма23, Со125, Со255, См7, PLS61, S72, etc., were distinguished by high cold resistance, good starting plant development, intensive accumulation of dry matter during ripening, but not adapted to the deficiency of moisture in the soil and high summer temperatures. According to the results of the experiment, it was revealed that, in terms of breeding, lines of Lancaster plasma (DK427 and DK633) were the most plastic, due to which a number of new mid-early lines were obtained, for example DK2/427, DK267, DK266/417, DK633/266, DK296, etc., which were included in the registered hybrids. Formation of the genetic base of early maturing maize source material for heterosis breeding and systematization accor­ding to different breeding characteristics provided a balance of samples of alternative components, which will be further used to model heterosis hybrids in the early maturing group.Conclusions. The updated basic collection of lines is represented by the samples of plasma Iodent: DK744SVZM, DK216SVZM, DK4173SVZM, DK235zS, DK257zM, SV, DK365SVZM, DK777ZMSV, DK733-7zM,SV, DK315SVZM; Lancaster: DK296zS,VM, DK633/266zS,VM, DK2965ZSZM, DK2953 ZSZM, DK3023 ZSZM, DK236zS,ZM; Raid (SSS): DK232MV, DK2323MV, DK239MV; Mixed: DK253ZSZM, DK273MV, DK272zS, DK281SV, DK233zM,SV, DK959MV, DK9527 ZSZM, DK247MV, DK2442MV, which is the basis of the genetic diversity of early ripening corn samples included in the State register of plant varie­ties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine. | Мета. Проаналізувати дивергенцію скоростиглого вихідного матеріалу кукурудзи звичайної Zea mays L. у гетерозисній селекції для формування генетичної бази в Державній установі Інститут зернових культур НААН.Методи. Польовий (комплексне оцінювання морфобіологічних і господарсько-цінних характеристик вихідного матеріалу й гібридів кукурудзи); індивідуальний добір, кумулятивна та рекурентна селекція, методи бекросу, тесткросу; лабораторний; аналіз та синтез; статистичний.Результати. Результатами досліджень з аналізу дивергенції скоростиглого вихідного матеріалу кукурудзи звичайної в умовах Степу України стала розвинута гармонізована робоча колекція селекційних зразків кукурудзи, адаптованих до стресових умов цього регіону. Поступові циклічні вдосконалення ліній дали змогу сформувати ядро генетичного різноманіття скоростиглих зразків ФАО 150–290 південного екотипу, конкурентних у гетерозисній селекції. Складність селекції на скоростиглість в умовах Степу зумовлена відсутністю матеріалу, адаптованого до стресових чинників Півдня України. Наявні ранньостиглі лінії світової колекції F2, F7, Ер1, Ма21, Ма23, Со125, Со255, См7, PLS61, S72 та ін., відрізнялися високою холодостійкістю, добрим стартовим розвитком рослин, інтенсивним накопиченням сухої речовини при достиганні, але зовсім не адаптовані до дефіциту вологи в ґрунті та високих літніх температур повітря. За результатами експерименту виявлено, що в селекційному плані найпластичнішими були лінії плазми Ланкастер (ДК427 та ДК633), завдяки чому отримано цілу низку нових середньоранніх ліній, як-от ДК2/427, ДК267, ДК266/417, ДК633/266, ДК296 та ін., які ввійшли до складу зареєстрованих гібридів. Формування генетичної бази скоростиглого вихідного матеріалу кукурудзи для гетерозисної селекції та систематизація за різними селекційними ознаками забезпечило збалансування зразків альтернативних компонентів, які далі будуть використані для моделювання гетерозисних гібридів у скоростиглій групі.Висновки. Оновлена базова колекція ліній представлена зразками плазми Айодент: ДК744СВЗМ, ДК216СВЗМ, ДК4173СВЗМ, ДК235зС, ДК257зМ,СВ, ДК365СВЗМ, ДК777ЗМСВ, ДК733-7зМ,СВ, ДК315СВЗМ; Ланкастер: ДК296зС,зМ, ДК633/266зС,зМ, ДК2965ЗСЗМ, ДК2953 ЗСЗМ, ДК3023 ЗСЗМ, ДК236зС,зМ; Рейд (SSS): ДК232МВ, ДК2323МВ, ДК239МВ; Змішаної: ДК253ЗСЗМ, ДК273МВ, ДК272зС, ДК281СВ, ДК233зМ,СВ, ДК959МВ, ДК9527 ЗСЗМ, ДК247МВ, ДК2442МВ, яка є основою генетичного різноманіття скоростиглих зразків кукурудзи звичайної і які було включено до Державного реєстру сортів рослин, придатних до поширення в Україні.

Purpose. To analyze the divergence of early maturing source material of corn Zea mays L. in heterosis breeding for the genetic base formation at the State Institution the Institute of Grain Crops of the NAAS of Ukraine. Methods. Field (comprehensive assessment of morphobiological and economically valuable characteristics of the source material and maize hybrids) individual selection, cumulative and recurrent selection, backross and testcrosses bree­ding methods; laboratory; analysis and synthesis; statistical. Results. The results of research on the analysis of the divergence of early maturing corn source material in the conditions of the Steppe of Ukraine has become a developed harmonized working collection of corn breeding samples adapted to the stressful conditions of this region. The gradual cyclical improvement of the lines made it possible to form the core of the genetic diversity of FAO 150–290 early maturing specimens of the southern ecotype, which are competitive in heterosis breeding. The complexity of breeding for early maturity in the steppe conditions is due to the lack of material adapted to the stress factors of the South of Ukraine. The available early maturing lines of the world collection F2, F7, Ер1, Ма21, Ма23, Со125, Со255, См7, PLS61, S72, etc., were distinguished by high cold resistance, good starting plant development, intensive accumulation of dry matter during ripening, but not adapted to the deficiency of moisture in the soil and high summer temperatures. According to the results of the experiment, it was revealed that, in terms of breeding, lines of Lancaster plasma (DK427 and DK633) were the most plastic, due to which a number of new mid-early lines were obtained, for example DK2/427, DK267, DK266/417, DK633/266, DK296, etc., which were included in the registered hybrids. Formation of the genetic base of early maturing maize source material for heterosis breeding and systematization accor­ding to different breeding characteristics provided a balance of samples of alternative components, which will be further used to model heterosis hybrids in the early maturing group. Conclusions. The updated basic collection of lines is represented by the samples of plasma Iodent: DK744SVZM, DK216SVZM, DK4173SVZM, DK235zS, DK257zM, SV, DK365SVZM, DK777ZMSV, DK733-7zM,SV, DK315SVZM; Lancaster: DK296zS,VM, DK633/266zS,VM, DK2965ZSZM, DK2953 ZSZM, DK3023 ZSZM, DK236zS,ZM; Raid (SSS): DK232MV, DK2323MV, DK239MV; Mixed: DK253ZSZM, DK273MV, DK272zS, DK281SV, DK233zM,SV, DK959MV, DK9527 ZSZM, DK247MV, DK2442MV, which is the basis of the genetic diversity of early ripening corn samples included in the State register of plant varie­ties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine.
