A cheap, simple apparatus for growing large batches of plant tissue in submerged liquid culture [carrots]
1980
Drew, R.L.K. (National VEgetable Research Station, Wellesbourne (UK))
The construction and method of use of a simple and relatively cheap apparatus for growing large (3l) batches of plant tissue in submerged liquid culture are described. All components are standard, off-the-shelf items, and no glass-blowing skills are used in the construction of the apparatus. Agitation of the culture is achieved by aeration and may be as gentle or as vigorous as is required. Data from two batches of carrot (Daucus carota L.) callus cultures illustrate the use of the apparatus.
