Tetrastichus inferens is a larval parasite and is host specific. The adult female lays eggs only in the third instar host larvae. There are four larval stages. The duration of the development from the egg to adult is 10 days. Soon after emergence, the female mates. The females live longer than the males. Females predominate in the sex ratio. The developmental history, emergence, mating, oviposition, host discrimination, nutrition, longevity, sex-ratio, host specificity, parthenogenesis and parasitism rate of this important species of Tetrastichus are described and discussed
