In root and leaf samples, the diseased tissues recorded higher optical density values than their corresponding healthy tissues. Secondly optical density values of stem tissue samples were also higher in diseased trees. Thirdly, tissue fibres from wilt affected trees were either brown or dark brown while the tissue fibres from the healthy trees appeared light brown
