Electrophoresis of wheat proteins

It is investigated the variability of protein by SDS -polyacrylamide gel - electrophoresis method at 17 varieties of wheat created in Novi Sad (SFRY). The next consulsions are made : 1. The surface below the curve in the field A1 is from 6.6% for NS-rana 1, NS-rana 2 and Banacanka varieties to 12.3% for Fruskogorka variety. In the field A2 the smallest surface below the curve is found at the Yugoslavia variety (9.8%) and the biggest at the Drina variety (16.4%). In the field A3 the smallest surface is for the Posavka 2 variety (20.9%) and the biggest for the Drina variety (30.3%). In the field A4 the surface below the curve is 33.9% for the Drina variety to 46.6% for the Yugoslavia variety. In the field A5 the smallest surface below the curve is found at the Bania variety (9.5%) and the biggest at the Biserka variety (14.5%). The average values of proteins in the field A4 are from 17.23 +- 0.39. The coefficience of variation is the smallest in the field A4 (5.17) and the biggest in the field A1 (9.23). The testing of average values of protein quantity for the field A1 - A5 proves that differences among varieties are highly significant except for the fields A2 and A5 in which are not significant.
