Better effects of the chisel concerning increased work efficiency (-75.8%), reduced fuel consumption (33-57%) and soil resistance (12.5 - 50.0%),as well as better crumbling quality of soil have been found. The chisel, however, cannot plough in plant residues and weeds and requires soil surface preparation by chopping or disc ploughing with heavy disc ploughs. Rationalized basic cultivation with the chisel did not bring about yield reduction and when used in tilling for maize and sugar beet it even brought about yield increase by 5-10%.
