[Frequency of arteriosclerotic changes in pig aortae]

On the basis of morphologic investigations into aortae of 92 pigs of different age and different way of breeding there were established histologic pictures of arteriosclerotic lesions on 14 aortae, i.e. in 15.2% of the cases. It was found out that these changes occurred in pigs which were 2-4 years old in 42.1% of the cases, with calmed pigs and those bred on individual farms and consuming swills periodically. The changes were not established with pigs which were 6-12 months old, consuming heavy feed with 3.2% of fat.
