The investigation was carried out on 7 castor oil plants. A correlation between synthesis of nucleic acids (RNA and DNA) in castor oil seeds and contents of proteins and amino acids were established. The oil content in seeds of the investigated populations ranged from 64% to 70%. The contents of lipid and nucleic phosphorus in seeds significantly varied. The share of RNA in seeds ranged from 703 to 1,243 mg%. Therefore, it could be concluded that the investigated material is very divergent and thus suitable for future selection.
