The objective of the investigation discussed in this paper was to study different maize hybrids for the effect of Derxia gumosa strains on length, mass and nitrogen concentration in the above-ground part and the root. The effectiveness of seven Derxia gumosa strains was determined in four maize hybrids according to the method of sand cultures. The plants were grown on sand for 30 days under half-sterile conditions and watered with distilled water. The effectiveness of the tested strains depended both on plant and microorganism genotype. The tested strains were most effective with the hybrids NSSC-425. In other hybrids, their effectiveness was similar. No strain increased or dicreased significantly the tested characteristics in all tested hybrids.
