The investigation was carried out on representing sample of the population which included 2500 standard lactations of the first calving Black and White cows of different genetic structure (different level of Holstein-Friesian breed genes). The invenstigation included 50 groups consisting of half-sisters reared on three large farms in the Belgrade region (Yugoslavia). Heritability coefficient varied from low, established for reproductive traits, to medium for productive traits. Heritability coeficient of 0.112 was established for age at fertilization, 0.045 for duration of pregnancy, 0.097 for duration of service period, 0.252 for milk yield, 0.197 for milk fat yield and 0.141 for percentage of milk fat. Results of the genetic correlation, that is mutual dependence of reproductive and productive traits, varied from extremely weak, weak to strong, and were mainly positive.
