The Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method utilizes low stringency PCR amplification with single primer of arbitrary sequence to amplify strain-specific arrays of anonymous DNA fragments. In this study, the RAPD assay was applied to identify polymorphic markers in three sheep breeds (Pirotska Pramenka -P, Il de France - F, and Wuertenberg - W) and their crosses. Using 12 different primers we obtained 70 RAPD markers. Thirty-eight of them are present in all breeds, thirteen are individual-specific, and nineteen are polymorphic for different sheep breeds. These markers could be useful for further research according molecular parameters in sheep selection area.
