Measurements of the sap flow carried out during the period from May to October 1996 on three representative beech trees in a mixed fir-spruce-beech forest at locality Polana-Hukavsky Grun were scaled up to the model beech stand transpiration. The mean daily stand transpiration was 1.6 mm. Extremely high daily totals of the stand transpiration 5.8 mm and 6.0 mm were recorded on 9th and 10th of June. The estimated model beech stand transpiration was compared with the potential evaporation according Turc. The total stand transpiration in the period from May to October 1996 was 257 mm what represents 46% of the potential evaporation according Turc
