Each species of organisms is called by only one specific name that is used worldwide and at all times. When scientific name has already been used for a given species, it is no longer available or can no longer be used for another species that is discovered later. When a taxonomist commits an error by using an unavailable name for another species, this results in homonym, that is single name for two different species. The International Code of Zoological Nomenclature provides that species published earlier (the senior homonym) will have priority over the use of that name, and that the name for the species published later (the junior homonym) should be changed. The present research note is intended to correct the name Amblyseuis syzgii Corpuz-Raros 2001, for a Philippine predatory mite that turned out to be a junior homonym of another species published in 1975 from India, Amblyseius syzgii Gupta. The Philippine species is, henceforth, called Amblyseius duhatus Corpuz-Raros as proposed in this paper
