Experiment was designed to develop an insecticide application appropriate for the farmer practice. The trial was conducted in a farmer' field at Ban Kud Loam, Amphur Cholnabot, Khon Kaen. Plot size was 5*3 m with spacing of 50*20 cm. The crop was planted on 6 January 1992 and harvested on 22 April 1992. Five treatments were allocated in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. It was observed that thrips occurred in a large number at the early stage of crop growth, while leafhoppers and leaf miners were present in a low number. Pod damages were also low. It may be concluded that pod yield decreased due to thrip infestation and control measure should be applied earlier than at 45 DAP. Since heavy infestation of thrips was noted at 30 days, therefore the insecticide should be sprayed at that date.
