Five wheat varieties were tested under the fast growing tree (Paulownia spp.) at the Royal Angkhang Station Chiangmai province during 1997-1998. Two promising barley lines, AKB2 and BRB2 were crossed to produce double haploid barley lines and selection at both Royal Angkhang station and Suwan Farm. The results indicated that SW 161 and insee 1 were suitable to the Paulownia fast growing tree at the Royal Angkhang station by giving outstanding high grain yield and SW 105 was the lowest in grain yield. Barley on the other hand showed differences in grain yield in preliminary yield test at Suwan Farm. Both spot blotch and blast will be evaluated in further yield test next years.
