In this investigation, genetic diversity of 12 Rose (Rosa dammscen mill) clones from Kashan (Naragh, Kamoo, Mashad-ardehal, Mahgolab, Sadabad, Vidooja, Vidooj and Varkan), Maymand, Tabriz, Kazeroon and Lavasanat regions were studied using 12 AFLP primer pairs. The numbers of observed loci were varied from 28 to 70 for each primer combination. The numbers of observed polymorphic loci were 451. Polymorphic information contents of specific primer combinations were varied from 0.002 to 0.719. Cluster analysis using molecular data separated clones in to 5 groups. The Rose clones from Kashan (Naragh, Kamoo, Mashad-ardehal, Mahgolab, Sadabad, Vidooja and Varkan) and Kazeroon regions were classified in to a same cluster. Molecular and morphological assessments showed that the clones from Kashan and Kazeron regions have probably a common origin. Tabriz, Maymand, Lavasanat and Vidooj rose clones classified in to 4 separated clusters. Comparing of morphological characters of clones such as yield, number of teasels, height and aromatic qualification confirmed the result derived from molecular analysis. Assessment of the polymorphic loci revealed specific informative markers for Tabriz, Maymand, Vidooj and Kazeron clones .
