In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented results of studying 200 collection varieties of fiber flax (Linum usitatissimum) by their identification traits. It was identified that the colour of a corolla in at a bud stage was more intensive than after dehiscence flowers. There was observed the dependence of traits 'corolla size' and 'boll size'. The traits 'longitudinal rugosity of a petal' and 'corolla form' were interrelated: rugosity causes a half-star or a star form of corolla. Fringing of a false dissepiment of a boll played a very important role in the reduction of seeds shattering, and as a result, in the increase of their yielding capacity. A black colour of seeds was typical for most studied varieties of fiber flax. There was stated presence of two marker traits in the following variety samples: Ottava 770 B See and Urugvaj x 1288/12 – stellate form of corolla, yellow-and- rosy anther; and Belochka – light brown seeds, white corolla.
