New hype for b-vitamins.
1987
A brief report critiques the publicized use of "Ener-B," a vitamin B12 gel, administered inside the nose, produced by a New York company (Nature's Bounty). The FDA warned the producer that it is an unapproved new drug that is illegal to market without FDA approval. The significant claims and advertising by the producer (arguing that it is a food, not a drug) are described.(wz).
