Intensive vegetable production, that is combined into field crop rotation, is competitive with field crops only when irrigated. In such conditions, yield is in average for 100 (from 20 to 400) percentage higher. Competence is increased with the introduction of technological measures (seedlings, coverings, mulch matherials, fertiirrigation) and with choosing suitable cultivars. Investment in irrigation at vegetable production is beneficial. Index of surface use is increased from 0.8 to 2.0, index of economy from 100 to 160 and index of effectiveness from 100 to 208. Level of production intensity is raised as well as the yield quality.
