The cultivars: Serrana and B71-240.2 (Dalisay) continued to give good yields both with imported seed as well as from the second generation crop. Their excellent virus resistance and good storage characteristics make these two cultivars outstanding. Clones 379693.110, 378597.1 and 378711.7 have also proven to be outstanding across all locations tested. At the China site there was heavy late blight infection. The clones CFK69.1, B71-240.2, Huinkul, and 378711.7 proved to be amongst the most resistant and gave the highest yields. With second generation seed stored in diffused light; Lt-7, Dalisay, 379693.110, Atlantic, Seguoia, and Serrana were amongst the best. Serrana (second generation) was as good as the best imported clones in a trial in New Caledonia. Numerous new promising clones have been selected. These will need further evaluation prior to their potential release as varieties.
