In order to evaluate the yield efficacy of new barley drought tolerant lines: MBD-87-16 and MBD- 87-13 with Kavir variety an experiment was conducted in shahrood teritory in Dizaj village during 1392-1391. Choosing farm and farmer was done by extention experts and the project's researcher. Barley lines: MBD-87-16 and MBD-87-13 and var. Kavir (control) were cultivated in half hectar each. Irrigations were done only three times: at sowing (fall), at growth start (April) and at flowering stage (May). Other farming operations such as pests, dieseses and weeds control were conducted similarley. During the growing season plant characteries were noted and before harvest, samples from different parts of each treatment were harvested and transfered to the laboratory for determination of some characteries. Each part of farm were separately harvested and weighed. The results showed yield of the line MB-D-87-16 and MB-D-87-13 as 5000 and 4950 kg per hectare respectively, while Kavir cultivar yielded 4100 kg /ha. New lines had greater yield (900 kg) than the Kavir cultivar. Harvest index in lines MB-D-87-13 and MB-D-87-16 were 54/22, 49/2 percent respectively. Number of grains per spike in on line MB-D-87-16, Kavir var. and lines MB-D-87-13, were 36/48, 35/7 and 32/97 respectively. Spike length, in kavir var. , line MB-D-87-16 and MB-D-87-13 were 5/31, 5/04 and 4/32 cm. respectivly . Plant height in kavir var. , line MB-D-87-16 and MB-D-87-13 were 88/38 ,69/10 and 67/87 cm. respectivly. Also length of spike to plant height ratio in Kavir, line MB-D-87-13 and line MB-D-87-16 were 6/30, 7/4 and 6/22 respectively.Thousand seed weight in line MB-D-87-13, Kavir var. lines MB-D-87-16 were found to be 45/5, 42/30 and 40/30 g. Considering all the traits of the new lines of barley cultivars, especially in terms of water shortages, their cultivation can be recommended.
