Algunas características físicas y químicas de frutos de cinco variedades de mango en condiciones de sabana del estado Monagas

Español; castellano. El mango, Mangifera indica L., es un fruto con ventajas comparativas y competitivas, con alta potencialidad y demanda en el mercado nacional e internacional. Frutos provenientes del Campo Experimental Santa Bárbara, estado Monagas, se evaluaron para determinar algunas características físico-químicas. Las variedades estudiadas fueron: Haden, Kent, Keitt, Palmer y Tommy Atkins. Los análisis físico-químicos realizados fueron: longitud y diámetro del fruto, peso, sólidos solubles totales (SST), acidez titulable, relación SST/acidez (AT) y pH. Los resultados indican que la variedad Palmer alcanzó 698,37 g, correspondiendo al mayor peso y la variedad Haden el menor peso con 345,13 g; el mayor contenido de SST fue para la variedad Haden con 9,17% y el menor valor en las variedades Kent y Palmer con 6,33%; aunque estadísticamente no hubo diferencia, la AT fue mayor en la variedad Keitt con 0,29% y menor para Kent con 0,16%; en cuanto a relación SST/AT, el valor mayor fue para la variedad Kent con 39,58% y menor para Keitt con 26,20%.

Coming fruits of the Santa Barbara Experimental field, Monagas State, were evaluated to determine some physical-chemistry characteristics The studied varieties were: Haden, Kent, Keitt, Palmer and Tommy Atkins. The analysis physical-chemistries were: length and soluble diameters of fruit, weight, solids soluble total (SST), titratable acidity (TA), relation SST/acidity and pH. The results show that the variety Palmer reached 698,36g, corresponding to the greater weight and the Haden variety the smaller weight with 345,13 g; the greater content of SST was for Haden variety with 9,17% and the smaller value in the varieties Kent and Palmer with 6,33%; the TA was greater in the Keitt variety with 0,29% and minor for Kent with 0,16%; according to SST/TA relation, the greater value was for variety Kent with 39,58% and minor for Keitt with 26,20%.
