Household waste management is a complex and multidisciplinary problem in Malaysia that should be considered on a sustainability basis. Statistics shows that on average, Malaysians produce 0.8 kg to 1.2 kg of waste per day . So Malaysia is faced to a large volume of house hold waste production. However, there are many treatment andprocessing technologies in the market for different type of waste. But, simply importing technology without understanding the local waste characteristics and composition in developing countries will not solve the problem RDF production from waste which is a common method in European countries is seen as advanced version of thedirect incineration technology. Then, Malaysia has only one example of such facilities in Kajang. RDF uses waste turned into pellets after the removal of non-combustible materials. This is then burnt under fixed conditions to produce energy. So, Utilizing and planning for resource recovery in Malaysia as a country which spend about 20%solid waste management s annual budgets for disposal of waste (landfill operation cost without any environmental treatment and control technology) would be useful. currently, the practice of solid waste disposal in most local authorities in this country through landfill and open dumping creates the issues and needs such as scarcity of landand affordability issues and appropriateness of technology. Therefore, in this paper, highlighting and emphasizingusing RDF production method in order to household waste treatment for Malaysia as a fast developing country in considered. So, it is studied by comparing landfill, and RDF production and combustion in this region to Indicate the advantages of RDF production for the Malaysian government authorities in order to encourage them do to gives more importance to investment on such resource recovery centers in Malaysia.
