Inglés. Every possible protection of cultivations from aphid attacks is examined. Infestations can be avoided by the use of resistant cultivars or with agronomic methods, among which the rotations of cultivations and the right use of fertilizers are quite important. Sometimes even weedkilling or mulching can reduce the possibility of attack. The current use of chemical products must respect the natural enemies (parasites or predators) which are often present on aphid colonies. Sometimes the wrong use of p.a. insecticides or fungicides can cause serious disorders in these auxiliaries favouring the growing of the same aphids.

Le infestazioni possono essere prevenute mediante impiego di cultivar resistenti, o con metodi agronomici. Tra questi, notevole importanza hanno le rotazioni delle coltivazioni e l'equilibrato impiego di concimi. Anche il diserbo o la pacciamatura a volte riducono la possibilita di attacco. La lotta con prodotti chimici correttamente impostata deve tendere a rispettare l'entomofauna utile di parassitoidi o predatori, spesso presenti in modo notevole sulle colonie di afidi. A volte, l'impiego generalizzato di p.a. insetticidi o anticrittogamici non selettivi determina gravi squilibri in questi ausiliari, favorendo la pullalazione degli afidi stessi.
