A clinical and pathological description based on 17 naturally occurring cases is presented. The disease is characterised by intractable, profuse, mucoid diarrhoea, weight loss, dehydration and death. Lesions in the intestine consist of villous atrophy and fusion, enterocyte hyperplasia and sometimes chronic inflammation. Cases so far observed have concurrent psittacine beak and feather disease.
