Six lactating sheep aged 2-3 years were inoculated with a culture of Mycoplasma ovine-caprine serogroup 11 (2-D). Sheep were examined daily for changes in udders and their secretions, and milk was tested. Observations indicated high pathogenicity, causing mastitis leading to agalactia. There was a rapidly developing, purulent mastitis with about 90 percent loss of milk yield within the first 4-5 days followed by agalactia due to extensive fibrosis.
