Herbage response to tree thinning in a Eucalyptus crebra woodland [Queensland]

Tree density was manipulated to leave plots with 640, 320, 160, 80 and nil live trees per ha. There was an inverse, linear relationship between tree density and herbage biomass. Increased grass recruitment was correlated with cattle grazing. Forb recruitment was influenced mainly by tree density.
